Scrooge is a 1913 silent film based on A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. The cast is unknown, as well as the crew.
The film featured Seymour Hicks as Ebenezer Scrooge, who later reprised his role in the 1935 film.
Plot[]
In the beginning, Charles Dickens paces around his room before siting down and beginning to write ''A Christmas Carol''. The introductory synopsis describes Ebenezer Scrooge and a shot of his nephew Fred, giving poor children money. However, Scrooge chases the children away. At the office, his clerk, Bob Cratchit bids goodbye to his son, Tiny Tim and goes to work. Scrooge later turns a young woman away and a town running out of food and money.
Scrooge only gives Mr. Cratchit a quill for Christmas. He is later visited by Jacob Marley, who warns him that three ghosts will appear and show Scrooge the error of his ways. Visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, Scrooge sees his childhood, the Cratchit family's christmas and a vision of Cratchit's dead son, Tim, and his own lonely tombstone. Waking up on Christmas day, he throws money from his window to the poor children from earlier and sends a boy for a turkey for Cratchit and his family, going to visit them for Lunch.
